February Message from the Co-President

It’s only February, but already trees are starting to bud, and bulbs are beginning to sprout…at least the ones my kids haven’t trampled yet!  I feel as if we’ve run the gamut of indoor play spaces the last few months, and I’m ready for some outdoor time!

I am excited to share with you that the SFOM Board had its first-ever retreat on January 30th, and we got some great work done!  One of the areas discussed was our communication strategy.  Our fantastic team of volunteers including Kristin Hutchinson, Carolyn Hostetler, AnneMarie Kuhnau and Natalie Saint-Johnson, are working hard to bring more content to our website and other online forums, and make better use of social media to get information to all of you.  To that end, we are suspending our newsletter for now, and will be communicating more using our blog and email.

We’re also starting to plan for Board transitions at the end of May and it looks like there will be a few positions open!  For example, our Treasurer role as well as PEMS and Year One will all be looking for new people interested in getting involved with the SFOM board.  Want to get involved, but don’t have the time to dedicate to a consistent position?  We also have several one-off coordinator needs for our annual events such as the summer picnic and Halloween party.  We are only as successful as the dedication of our volunteers – if you’re ready to give back, let us know and we can find a “just right” job for your talents and time!  Email: president@seattlemultiples.org.

Expect more frequent updates to this page going forward.  I look forward to when we meet again!
